It’s officially hot.  When the temperatures spike above 100, it can be almost unbearable.

Those of us with long hair have only a few options to keep cool, short of chopping all of our hair off, which isn’t always a bad thing, but sometimes impulsive.

This is when we praise the pony tail.  And, not the one you wore while playing high school volleyball, a bouncy knot tied way up high on top of your head.  And, not the one that’s backcombed to the hills, either.

A Sandra Bullock one.  Yes, America’s new Sweetheart is back after her short, I’m-going-to-divorce-my-cheating-husband sabatical, and she showed us all how to wear a pony tail.  With class.

It’s low on your head.  It’s smooth.  It has a part.  It might have a few whispies in front, tucked neatly behind the ears.

Who can’t get behind this look?  It’s incredibly easy, and if Sandra’s wearing it, we all can.  And, she wore it to an awards show.  Certainly we can do it around town, to the grocery or for a night out in Old Town.

Summer hair drama solved.

I haven’t watched the MTV Movie Awards since I was in high school, and I will not divulge when that was to keep my age a mystery!

But, I just saw a promo for it over the weekend, featuring Tom Cruise as Les Grossman (giving me the heebie jeebies just thinking about it) preaching to Robert Pattinson (swwwoooon!) about his hair.

And while you’re watching, notice the little drop he sneaks in there.  It’s about the Brazilian Blowout, which Madison Avenue Salon & Day Spa happens to have.  Oh so hip.

I’ve talked about it before, but this service will leave your locks straight and shiny.  Seriously.  For a few months.  What’s not to love?

Except the fact that Les Grossman knows about it.  Ick.
