I didn’t drink too much.  I didn’t drink at all while watching the Emmy Awards, actually.

I like to think I’m hungover though because it took me a couple days to actually absorb all of the fashion hits (Claire Danes) and misses (Rita Wilson).  I couldn’t watch the awards live, a travesty I’m still coming to grips with, so I had to record them and all of the fashion recaps afterwards.

And, this is what I came away with. Love that Mad Men won.  Thrilled for Edie Falco and Modern Family, the first regular sitcom that’s made me laugh since I was a kid.  And, in love with a couple hairstyles, one of which is causing a stir.

While I’m not sold on the dress, I am longing for her hair.  Wispy.  Blonde.  Short. Playful.  Not too done.

I was happy not to see a million up-dos.  It allows for everyday inspiration.  I like that.   Because there just aren’t many places I’m wearing a twist these days, since Homecoming is far in my rearview mirror it’s embarrassing to remember (the fashions, anyway).

Claire Danes had a gorgeous short, down do, as well.  Hers was softer, curled and styled away from her face.  Different.  Elegant.  But, the cut wasn’t too far removed from that of Jones’, at least on the surface.

The simple styles from the Emmys give us all something to go on.  Now about that dress…..

I felt pretty special today.  So did seven other women, who were looking for a good way to cover their gray.

I got a sneak peek at Redken’s new Cover Fusion line of hair color, and Madison Avenue Salon & Day Spa indulged seven lucky models with new color and cuts to start the school year fresh (they all work together at the same school).

The color was amazing.  Rich.  Full.  Shiny.  And the ladies were feelin’ it.  Totally. Strutting down the makeshift catwalk inside the Foothills location, while champagne, fruit and cheese sat on ice for the “after party.”

Right?  Sounds fancy, huh?  Well, if you missed out, don’t sweat it.  There’s going to be another one next month at the Chandler Fashion Center location (details to come…..).  Oh, and there are serious discounts and giveaways, too.
