That song in my head…

I have a song stuck in my head.  And, it’s not awful, but it’s on the radio every five minutes.

I wanna be a billionaire (thank God you can’t hear me singing this…) so frickin’ bad. Buy all of the things I never had….

My favorite part is the beginning, with cutie Bruno Mars playing guitar.  Love his voice!

Cutie Bruno Mars, who is a featured artist on one of my favorite songs right now.

And, don’t we all want to be billionaires?  Or, at least millionaires?  I do.

Ahh, but I’m not.

This is why I loved hearing the latest scoop from Jessica, an artistic director at Madison Avenue Salon & Day Spa.  The salon is having a blowout sale through July 17 on three Redken blowdry and styling products.

Satin Wear, Iron Silk and Blown Away are all 50 percent off.  Nice.  Each of the products help with thermal styling — ie. blow drying, curling and flat ironing.  They help hold a style and protect your hair.

Bingo.  Sounds good to me.  And, I don’t have to be a billionaire…

Twinkle tips

All of this Twilight movie mania has me ready to hit the movie theater the very second Eclipse opens. It also has me thinking about scheduling a manicure.

Stay with me here.  This might be a weird stream-of-consciousness, but when I think of vampires (which are all the rage at the moment), I think of fingernails.  Dark.  Short.  Flawless.

A still photo released from Eclipse, starring Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.

The deep purples and dark reds trend in hues has stayed true over the past couple years, making it easy to wear dark colors during any season.  And, especially since vampires and their dark personas are hot, it’s easy to get away with a dark color in summer.

Of course, I could still go with a pale pink — always a winner for me.

Anyway — Madison Avenue Salon & Day Spa has this great new polish that might just blow your mind a little bit.  It did mine.

It’s called Shellac.

It spent five years in development before hitting the market and now that it’s here it’s making manicures all the more convenient.

Shellac is a hybrid polish.  It goes on like polish with a base coat, a color, and a top coat.  But, then it’s cured with a special UV light, drying your nails in an instant.

So you don’t have to wear flip-flops for a pedi in the winter.  You don’t have to worry about smudges while digging around for your car keys in your purse.

It won’t happen.  And, it’s designed to last 14 days without chips.  This polish is SO my speed.

It comes in 12 colors now, and 12 more are planned for later this year.  I wonder if a Vampy Rose will be part of the palette.
